North Myrtle Beach
Through experience,
I know that North Myrtle
Beach is a pretty hospitable place. In fact, every summer this elderly couple lets my family stay in their house!
Free room and board! But for those who can not find a home for the week, NMB has as wonderful selection of hotels. Ocean Drive, Cherry Grove, Avista, (point to ponder: Avista is
a huge resort that was built in about 8 months and is about 75 yards from the shore…) several luxurious resorts, and
condos occupy North Myrtle Beach’s gorgeous shore.
Not only does
NMB’s shore offer a variety lodging options, it also showcases the rare beauty of an “undisturbed” shoreline.
Morning, day and night, alone, or surrounded by thousands of fellow tourists, the beach glistens with the glory of the suns
rays. If you’re there at dawn or sundown, you’ll be greeted by the peaceful sound of only the crashing waves,
and an array of colors shining off them. During the day, expect the shrieks of kids leaping with joy into the perfectly-sized
waves. It doesn’t get much better than that.
Once you’ve
left the beach for the day, make sure to stop by the Together Forever Wedding Chapel. Not exactly a family event, but if you’re
lucky, you might just see eight gleeful and probably loud grandchildren, six aunts and uncles with crowd-control duty, and
two loving grandparents that these fourteen call “Gangi and Papa.”
